Judge Roy Moore
on the Right to Bear Arms

[COMMENT:  If the people under God are the supreme political authorities of the land, then the people must hold the final say on the use of coercive force.  The only way to have that final say is to bear arms themselves.  When civil government is the only body allowed to have arms, we will soon have a tyranny.  If the people are so frightened of themselves bearing arms, the people will relinquish their freedom.

The use of arms in a Christian nation is not the issue.  God clearly gives us the right, indeed the duty, to defend ourselves in appropriate circumstance.  There are clear rules of conduct for a Christian soldier, as in just war rules.  We are sliding slowly but surely into a centralized government which controls all the coercive force.  That must be stopped.

But we must first reconvert the people to Jesus, after which the use of weapons will fall naturally under the rulership of Jesus, King of kings and Lord of lords.

I used to believe that Jesus would never "pull the trigger" -- until I realized that when Jesus says, "Depart from Me, I never knew you...," He is pulling the final trigger, from which there is no appeal.   The Last Judgement.      E. Fox ]

"The Right of the People to keep and bear Arms,
shall not be infringed."

The right to own guns has always been an important part of Judge Roy Moore's plan to Return Alabama to the People, as part of his commitment to "secure God-given inalienable rights of life, liberty, and property."  The below statement on gun rights was originally released in October 2005.

"It is very clear what our founders meant by those words.  The words have not been diminished by time, or by a diminished need for a well regulated militia!  The words and intent of the writers of the Alabama Constitution are equally clear - article 1, section 26 guarantees that every citizen has the right to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State!

"Yet, we continually violate the spirit of the these exceedingly clear rights by enacting restrictive gun laws that commonly contradict themselves!  Furthermore, they are difficult if not impossible to effectively and impartially enforce; resulting in law abiding citizens many times being unconstitutionally disarmed while the criminals, knowing their dilemma, take advantage - sometimes using "deadly force" of their own.

"The right of every individual to defend themselves under common law was termed "self defense" and was a right given by God.  This right is in its nature an inalienable right which must be secured by government - not taken away!  When I am elected Governor of Alabama, I will abide by the constitutions of Alabama and the United States in defending that right."

Poem by Judge Roy Moore

America the Beautiful,
or so you used to be.
Land of the Pilgrims' pride;
I'm glad they'll never see.

Babies piled in dumpsters,
Abortion on demand,
Oh, sweet land of liberty;
your house is on the sand.

Our children wander aimlessly
poisoned by cocaine,
Choosing to indulge their lusts,
when God has said abstain.

From sea to shining sea,
our Nation turns away
From the teaching of God's love
and a need to always pray.

We've kept God in our temples,
how callous we have grown.
When earth is but His footstool,
and Heaven is His throne.

We've voted in a government
that's rotting at the core,
Appointing Godless Judges
who throw reason out the door,

Too soft to place a killer
in a well deserved tomb,
But brave enough to kill a baby
before he leaves the womb.

You think that God's not angry,
that our land's a moral slum?
How much longer will He wait
before His judgment comes?

How are we to face our God,
from Whom we cannot hide?
What then is left for us to do,
but stem this evil tide?

If we who are His children,
will humbly turn and pray;
Seek His holy face
and mend our evil way:

Then God will hear from Heaven
and forgive us of our sins,
He'll heal our sickly land
and those who live within.

But, America the Beautiful,
if you don't - then you will see,
A sad but Holy God
withdraw His hand from Thee.
