John Swinton, for Chief of Staff for the New York Times-1953 toast before New York press Club:

"...If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my paper, before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone. The business of journalists is to destroy the truth; to lie outright; to pervert; to vilify; to fawn at the feet of mammon, and to sell his country and his race for his daily bread. you know it and I know it and what folly is this toasting an independent press? We are the tools and vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are the jumping jacks and they pull the strings and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and our lives are all the property  of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."

Former President of CBS news Richard Salant said, "Our job is to give people not what they want, but what WE decide they ought to have."

David Rockefeller: 1990, Baden, Baden Germany at a UN conference: "we are grateful to the Washington Post, The New York times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years.... It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectuals elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national determination practiced in past centuries."

[Friends, if this is not treason, what needs to be added to make it so?  A free people require an honest and faithful media.  We have people owning and running the media who have long since given up any concern for truth and who are bent on control, not truth.  But they, like all the rest of us, are under the sovereignty of God, and are stewards of what He has given them.

Because of their rebellion and subversion of truth, the Lord of Truth is their enemy. We had better be on the side of the Lord of Truth because the other side cannot win. And we had better do it openly and visibly and audibly, or we will be run over by them. God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of boldness and courage.

Earle Fox]
