[COMMENT: One girl stands up for truth. Get your daughter out of the Girl Scouts, and your son out of the Boy Scouts. They have both become poison to the soul. See Boy Scouts. E. Fox]
|She walked away...|
The renowned American novelist, William Faulkner, once stated, "Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed. If people all over the world...would do this, it would change the earth." Undoubtedly, our society is digressing from advocacy. Of course there are organizations and politicians who boldly proclaim their pro-abortion and anti-Christian beliefs. But, the general American public is choosing to remain silent on issues that directly oppose Christian teachings.
The crisis of mute citizens is definitely evident in our youth. Many young people remain silent on topics that contradict their values because of the threat of having to stand alone. Thus, our nation is essentially raising a generation of citizens that are conditioned to let the government pass legislation that conflict with Biblical beliefs. However, the story of seventeen-year-old Sydney Volanski serves as an example of a youth who is demonstrating advocacy.
After being a Girl Scouts member for eight years, Sydney Volanski decided to leave the female organization because of their pro-abortion agenda. Furthermore, Volanski continues to raise her voice for truth on her website entitled "Speak Now: girl scouts" which exposes the left leaning mindset of the organization.
In one of Volanski's recent articles, the teen revealed World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) participation in a conference that had the purpose "of call[ing] for action to improve the health and well-being of girls and women." However, Volanski noted that the conference "featured speakers such as late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart, philosopher Peter Singer, who supports infanticide and euthanasia, and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Some of the breakout sessions were entitled "Outing and Addressing Abortion Stigma" and "Why I Perform Abortions." Exhibitors included many abortion and population control advocates such as Amnesty International, Guttmacher Institute, International Planned Parenthood Federation, and Marie Stopes International."
The ex-Girl Scout also reported Girl Scout USA's association with "The Coalition for Adolescent Girls". The Coalition advocates sex education and abortion related care for young girls. Because of GSUSA's support for abortion, GSUSA "still encourages girls to work with or research many pro-abortion groups such as the ACLU, Amnesty International, Population Council, Sierra Club, WAGGGS and others." Moreover GSUSA's does not include any pro-life organization recommendations in their books for girls.
Through her determination to stand for truth, Sydney Volanski exposed the link between Girl Scouts USA and pro-abortion organizations and is a model for youth and adults. She demonstrates the possibility of change and creating an impact when one speaks out against wrongdoing. When politicians and organizations can implement policies that oppose Christian values with ease, it is time to promote advocacy and actively defend our morals.
